Hurlburt Chapter
Welcome to the new website of Chapter 398 of the Air & Space Forces Association (AFA). We are frequently referred to as the Hurlburt Chapter as the bulk of our membership formerly served at Hurlburt Field in the Special Operations community, our physical location is adjacent to Hurlburt Field, and we share the geographical area with our Eglin AFA Chapter neighbors about 5 miles away.
The Hurlburt Chapter has over 1,000 members on its roster consisting of Active, Reserve, or Retired service members, government employees, civilians, and Community Partners. All are volunteers and dedicated to the establishment and support of a strong Air and Space Force for our country.
Our mission is to promote dominate U.S. Air & Space Forces as the foundation of a strong National Defense; honor and support our Airmen, Guardians, and their families; and to honor and respect our enduring Heritage.
To accomplish this, we:
- Educate the public on the critical need for unrivaled aerospace power and promote aerospace and STEM education for a technically superior and professional workforce to ensure national security.
- Advocate and promote aerospace power to favorably shape policy and resourcing decisions to guarantee the strongest aerospace forces in the world.
- Support Airmen, Guardians, and the families of the Total Air Force and Space Force, including Active Duty, National Guard, Reserve, civilians, families, and members of the Civil Air Patrol.
We are always seeking like-minded individuals to join with us as we work to strengthen and support our local schools, communities, and military members.
Join Us! Become an active part of the Hurlburt Chapter 398 AFA organization!
Chapter 398 is now accepting nominations for Teacher of the Year (TOY). This annual program recognizes classroom teachers at the chapter, state, and national level for their accomplishments and achievements in exciting K-12 students about science and math (STEM) and preparing them to use and contribute to tomorrow’s technologies. This is a unique opportunity for us to reward special teachers who are furthering excellence and making coming to class an adventure. If you are or know such a teacher at the elementary, middle, or high school level who is really making aerospace education or STEM an emphasis in their daily classroom instruction, we invite you to complete the nomination for our award. Applications can be found here at AFA Awards – Florida.
